1 Tbsp. light margarine
1 oz unsweetened chocolate – 1 square
1 (7oz) jar marshmallow crème
1 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
6 cups Rice Krispies (not the cocoa ones, the regular ones) (11.5 pt)
Spray a 13×9 inch pan with cooking spray. Melt the margarine and chocolate in a large saucepan over low heat. Add the marshmallow crème, cocoa, and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat and add the cereal, stirring until well-coated. Spread the mixture in the pan, pressing down evenly. Let cool 10 minutes and cut into 24 squares.


1 large onion, chopped
2 red pepper, chopped
2 zucchini squash, sliced
1 large eggplant, peeled and cubed
4 large tomatoes, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 bay leaf
1/3 cup bread crumbs
salt and pepper
Spray a pan with cooking spray. Brown the onion and the garlic (do not let garlic burn!). Add all the veggies and the bay leaf and simmer covered for 2 hours. Sprinkle on the breadcrumbs and cook
another 5 minutes. Remove the bay leaf and serve.


1 lb ground round beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 package taco seasoning mix
1 package Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing mix
1 16oz can pinto beans
1 16oz can hot chili beans
1 16oz can whole kernel corn
1 16oz can stewed tomatoes
1 16oz can diced tomatoes and chilis (i.e. Rotel mild)

Brown the beef and the onion together. Drain the grease. Stir everything together in a large pot
and heat through.



1/4 cup Egg Beaters (or 3 egg whites)
small English muffin
Kraft 2% sharp cheddar cheese
1 slice lean Canadian bacon

Press the slice of Canadian bacon down into a small microwave-safe cup or bowl. Pour the Egg   
Beaters over. Cover loosely with a piece of plastic wrap. Microwave on high for about 1 minute or until the egg foams up and gets solid. (It will look like it’s exploding out of the cup, which is why you need the plastic wrap. But the plastic wrap should be loose so steam can escape.) Remove the plastic wrap and put the cheese slice on top of the egg, folding the corners in to make it fit. Toast the English muffin. Run a spoon around the edge of the egg to loosen and plop onto the muffin bottom. Top with the muffin top.

The Greek society and culture of ancient times was highly advanced and many of their philosophies and attitudes towards health and wellness carry into modern society, technology and medicine. The Greeks were the first to realize that nutrition, food was the key to health wellness and a strong mental attitude. This is a fact that is often times sadly forgotten by our modern society. We are a culture and society where everything has to be fast and we want everything to be done in an instant.

We have forgotten that sometimes things that are good for us take time. We have forgotten that a breakfast consisting of jelly doughnuts, bagels and cream cheese and coffee with extra cream and extra sugar will only make us sick and actually decrease our health and wellness and might possibly even take away years from our life. Conversely if you would spend a few minutes in the morning and make a good nutritious breakfast of eggs, coffee with an herbal sweetener such as Stevia and even good healthy fats like avocado and some good vegetables like spinach or kale will not only provide our body with all the nourishment that we need it will also give us a boost of energy that will last for the majority of the day. People have forgotten that if they don’t eat a good quality breakfast like this they will actually be hungry for most of the day and especially later on into the evening. Believe it or not a good healthy breakfast consisting of good quality protein and good healthy fats and vegetables will eliminate your hunger and cravings for the majority of the day.

So you can see the difference between taking your time and having a good breakfast as compared to having a quick fast instant breakfast.

If you want to add years to your life and increase the quality of your life I highly recommend that you start taking your time in the morning. Yes this may mean that you have to wake up a little but earlier to prepare your breakfast but the benefits are definitely worth it.

There are actually quick and easy recipes for breakfast. These recipes will turn your body into a fat burning machine. If you are not a person that can spend time making breakfast in the morning there are really good meal replacement shakes and high quality protein shakes that will give your body everything that it needs to work at peak efficiency. Just be careful and look out for the sugar content in these shakes. A lot of these shakes have quite a bit of sugar in them and this actually defeats the purpose of drinking something like this first thing in the morning. You really want to have a shake that has no sugar content.

This is because when your body has too much sugar in it your fat burning processes almost literally shut down. You see your body can burn two things for fuel. It can burn fat for fuel and it can burn sugar for fuel. In order for your body to burn fat for fuel the amount of sugar in your body has to be almost 0. If there is a bunch of sugar in your body from that yummy tasting jelly donut and coffee with extra cream and extra sugar that you had for breakfast your body will burn that sugar because it is more easily available. And the problem is your body will not even burn all of the sugar if you keep on adding sugar to it throughout the day. So this means that you never ever actually becomes fat burning. And because all of the extra sugar in your body does not get totally burned out the body stores it as fat. So you can see that if you want to lose weight if you want to be healthy you actually have to decrease the amount of sugar that you eat during the entire day.

Now this sounds impossible because all of us enjoy the taste of something sweet. I have to admit I really enjoy sweet tasting goodies more than anything else. By I like being healthy and I like being fit and lean all whole lot more than being fat sluggish and tired from over eating sugary goodies.

The surprising thing is if you give your body the right amount of fat and the right amount of protein it will actually eliminate all of your cravings for sweet tasting things. Yes that is true I know it’s hard to believe but it is totally true!

I put this to the test myself. And one day for breakfast I had three large eggs, two strips of turkey bacon and a cup of coffee with heavy cream and I topped my coffee with a little bit of reddi  whip. Then approximately two hours later I had a nice strip of mozzarella cheese. And then about an hour to an hour and a half later I had about 6 ounces of grilled chicken breast over top a beautiful salad of raw vegetables and cooked vegetables and topped it with a delicious bell sonic vinaigrette dressing. About two hours after this I had a small apple and a quarter of an avocado as a snack. And then an hour and a half later for dinner I had 6 ounces of filet mignon, yes that’s right I had steak, a large salad with bell sonic vinaigrette dressing and sautéed asparagus, leeks and mushrooms and garlic Brussel sprouts.

Believe it or not, this is eating a clean diet. I was never hungry and I never had any cravings. I went to bed completely satisfied and not hungry at all. It gets even better because when I weighed myself the next day I was actually 2 1/2 pounds lighter.

So I really don’t see why people don’t eat this way. The benefits of this program are you are never hungry, you will lose weight, you will lose pounds and inches and more importantly you will be improving your overall health and wellness and adding years to your life. You will not only be adding years to your life but you will be increasing and improving the quality of your life. Who wants to live to be 100 years old and because of the terrible way that you will be in throughout your entire life you are just going to be sick. But if you clean and healthy and you live to be 100 years old you will probably will be in much better shape than if you ate junk all the time.

So I hope you now realize with the ancient Greeks did. Food is actually medicine. Food will make you healthy, vigorous, energetic and lean.

General recommendations are that you eat your breakfast within the first hour of waking up and again your breakfast should consist of good quality protein, good healthy fats and even vegetables. After breakfast about an hour and a half later you should have a snack. An hour and a half after that you should have a nice healthy lunch again made up of good healthy proteins and fats and vegetables. Then of course you want to have a good healthy snack again and finally at the end of the day you would like to and should have a dinner of protein, healthy fats and a ton of vegetables.

It is recommended that you stop eating around 7 PM or 8 PM. This is because five hours later your body will be fat burning. That’s right if you go without eating for five hours your body will turn into a fat burning machine. So if you stop eating at 7 PM your body is burning fat. And your body will be burning fat the entire night while you were sleeping. So you won’t be hungry, you won’t be grouchy, you won’t be irritable, but you will be burning fat. I don’t know about you but I don’t think it could be any easier or get any better than this. So far these general guidelines if you want to be healthy and well. And especially if you want to be lean and fit.
